This week Boris FX announced their acquisition of GENARTS, a rival visual effects software company, and the makers of Sapphire. This is a huge deal because it merges two of the industry's leading (and formerly competing) visual effects plugin manufacturers. This comes less than two years after Boris FX acquired Imagineer Systems, and their industry-leading planar tracking software, Mocha.
