Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer Edited in Premiere Pro

Tweeted Photo Shows Premiere Pro in Terminator: Dark Fate Edit Bay

There’s talk of the trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate being cut in Premiere Pro. It has been substantiated by a Tweet quoting the film’s director, Tim Miller, and a picture of the editing room. A timeline in Premiere Pro can clearly be seen on the monitor. The trailer is expected drop in the next several weeks.

UPDATE 5/23/19: Watch the trailer

“I like to spend every #TerminatorDay in a dark room thinking dark thoughts & our edit bay is the perfect place! We're here putting the finishing touches on our FIRST TRAILER-we're just weeks away from releasing this fucker into the wild & we're very, very excited.” -Tim Miller

Many Premiere Pro users will recognize Tim Miller as the director of the original Deadpool movie, which was edited in Premiere Pro. It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the rest of the Terminator: Dark Fate film is also being cut in Premiere Pro. And if it is, you can be assured that Adobe will promote the heck out of it!

It’s true that storytelling is more important than the tools, and no camera or editing software can compensate for bad storytelling. But, the fact is, we live in a world where people pick up on things like what NLE was a film edited in.

The real question that most Terminator fans have of the trailer is will it spoil the plot?
